“For Lovers Only” the opening and end scene.
The only thing showing are the chairs which are empty, black and white, the scenery is lonely, the perspective still. That represent the situation of both of the characters at the beginning, they’re stuck in their lives, lonely.
After they met in Paris and went on their road-trip, life is colorful, expressive, surprising, happy.
To me, that ending shows how For Lovers Only isn’t necessarily a story with a sad ending. We can not really tell if they’re together in the end, or if they stay in touch, but we know for sure that this week in France changed them, and the change is obviously a positive one.
